Svitzer is looking for a People Operations Partner to join our team in Angola. In Svitzer, our teams are lean, responsibilities: are broad, and everyone contributes. This is a hands-on People & Culture role where you'll work closely with leaders and employees across the full employee lifecycle, supporting both our shore-based employees and marine vessel crew workforce. Working closely with the P&C Manager, you will deliver operational People & Culture support across recruitment, learning and development, employee relations and HR systems, while supporting employee engagement, wellbeing, compliance and continuous improvement. You'll support People & Culture operations across both our shore-based and marine workforce, working closely with leaders and employees with travel to operational sites (i.e. Soyo) as required to support the business. What you can look forward to You'll be part of a small and collaborative People & Culture team where you'll have ownership of a defined, broad portfolio of operational HR activities. Working alongside the P&C Manager, you'll support leaders and employees while helping develop local talent and strengthen Svitzer's Angolanisation commitments. This role is suited to someone who enjoys operational HR, building trusted relationships with leaders and employees, and continuously improving how People & Culture services are delivered. You'll take ownership of day-to-day operations while contributing to projects that strengthen systems, simplify processes and improve employee experience. What you will do As People Operations Partner, you will: Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and support workforce planning across shore staff, vessel crew, cadets and trainees, helping build local talent pipelines and support Svitzer's Angolanisation commitments. Coordinate learning and development, training, onboarding and workforce development programmes to strengthen workforce capability. Provide practical operational People & Culture advice and support to leaders and employees, managing routine employee relations matters and supporting employees throughout the employee lifecycle. Support employee engagement, performance, organisation change/transformation, and other People & Culture initiatives while helping ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Act as the country Workday system expert, maintaining high-quality People data and supporting workforce reporting, governance and compliance requirements. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve People processes through systems, technology and better ways of working. Contribute to operational improvement projects and collaborate with regional colleagues to implement best practice People & Culture processes and systems. Who we are looking for We're looking for a practical, organised and hands-on HR professional who enjoys working closely with people and supporting day-to-day business operations. You build trusted relationships, take ownership and enjoy finding practical ways to improve how work gets done. You will ideally bring A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline. Around 3-5 years' experience: in Human Resources, preferably within maritime, logistics, oil & gas, industrial or other operational environments. Experience: across recruitment, learning and development, routine employee relations and partnering with leaders on operational people matters. Strong knowledge of Angolan labour law and HR compliance requirements. Experience: coordinating training programmes and workforce development initiatives is preferred. Experience: supporting operational improvement, systems implementation or process improvement initiatives is an advantage. Experience: with Workday or another HR information system is highly advantageous. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Fluency in English and Portuguese. You are Organised, proactive and hands-on. Customer-focused with a passion for delivering high-quality People & Culture services. Comfortable working with systems, data and technology. Curious and motivated to improve processes and ways of working. An effective communicator who builds trusted relationships across the organisation.
